OopsPlan Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the Android application OopsPlan, developed by Rita Skuder, handles information when you use the app.
1. Data stored by OopsPlan
OopsPlan is primarily a local, on-device planning application. Information that you enter into the app—such as tasks, reminders, calendar items, meal plans, recipes, shopping-list items, pantry information, budgets, income, expenses, recurring payments, preferences and settings—is stored locally on your device.
OopsPlan does not require you to create an OopsPlan account and does not operate its own cloud account service for this information.
2. Internet access and third-party websites
OopsPlan uses Internet access when you choose online functionality, such as searching for a recipe, opening a recipe source or searching for a product price. In those cases, your search terms and normal network information needed to load the requested page (for example, your IP address and browser/network request information) may be received by the third-party website or service you choose to access. Those third-party services process information under their own privacy policies.
OopsPlan does not use the recipe browser to enable JavaScript, DOM storage, file access or content access inside the embedded browser.
Recipe links. When you paste a link to a recipe page, OopsPlan downloads that page over HTTPS to read the dish name, ingredients and preparation steps. The website receives the normal network information of such a request.
Price search (“Where cheaper”). When you search for a product price, your search words (a product name, or the product name found for a barcode) are sent over HTTPS to the public websites of the shops and price-comparison services being searched (currently Lidl, Rimi, Krepza and Gera Kaina). A barcode that you scan or type is sent to Open Food Facts to look up the product name. A product photo is read on the device with Google ML Kit text recognition and is not uploaded by OopsPlan. If you use the distance filter, your approximate location is used on the device only and is not sent to the shops. Prices that you save from receipts or enter by hand stay on your device.
Watched prices. If you ask OopsPlan to tell you when a product gets cheaper, the app repeats the price search for that product about once a day in the background, including while the app is closed, and shows a notification only when the price has dropped. The list of watched products and the prices found are stored on your device. You can stop watching a product at any time in “Where cheaper”.
3. Weather and approximate location
OopsPlan can show weather in the app and its home-screen widget. If you grant location permission, the app may use the device’s last known approximate location. If permission is not granted or no location is available, OopsPlan uses a broad regional fallback derived from the device time zone.
To request a forecast, rounded latitude and longitude coordinates, app-identifying user-agent information, and normal network information such as your IP address are sent over HTTPS to the MET Norway Weather API. Weather results may be cached locally for display and reliability. OopsPlan does not continuously track your location and does not request location in the background.
4. Receipt scanning and text recognition
Receipt scanning starts only after you choose the scan action. OopsPlan uses Google Play services Document Scanner and Google ML Kit text recognition to capture and recognize receipt information on the device. OopsPlan does not upload the receipt image or recognized receipt text to an OopsPlan server.
Google SDKs may process diagnostic and usage information such as device and app information, per-installation identifiers, performance metrics, API configuration, event information and errors according to Google’s terms and privacy disclosures.
5. Google Play purchases
OopsPlan may offer paid or Premium features through Google Play Billing. Payments are processed by Google Play. OopsPlan does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account details. The app may receive purchase and entitlement information from Google Play that is necessary to determine whether paid features are available to you. The “Where cheaper” price search and receipt scanning are Premium features, and Premium subscribers are not shown advertising.
6. Notifications and reminders
If you allow notifications, OopsPlan uses notification permission to show reminders and alerts that you configure, and price drops for products you chose to watch. Reminder information is processed on your device.
7. Calendar export
When you explicitly choose to export an event to a calendar, OopsPlan passes the event details to the calendar application or service selected on your device. OopsPlan does not silently upload your calendar data to an OopsPlan server.
8. Backup, export and import
Android may include eligible OopsPlan application data in device backup, depending on your device, Android settings and backup provider. OopsPlan may also allow manual export or import initiated by you. Backup providers and destination applications may process data according to their own privacy policies.
9. Advertising and privacy choices
OopsPlan includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob) to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may process information needed to request, deliver, measure, secure and limit ads. Depending on your device settings, region and privacy choices, this may include IP address, device and app information, advertising or app-related identifiers where available, ad interaction information, and diagnostic information.
Where required, OopsPlan uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and store advertising privacy choices before requesting production ads. The choices available to you depend on applicable law, Google’s configured privacy message, and your device or account settings.
OopsPlan does not sell personal information.
10. Data sharing
OopsPlan does not sell or rent your personal information. Information is transferred to a third-party service only when necessary for a feature you use, for advertising you have permitted where required, or for included service diagnostics. Examples include MET Norway for weather, Google Play services and ML Kit for receipt scanning and product photos, recipe websites, shop and price-comparison websites and Open Food Facts for price search, Google Play Billing, Google Mobile Ads/AdMob and UMP for advertising and privacy choices, calendar export, and Android/device backup. Those services process information under their own privacy terms.
11. Data security
OopsPlan is designed to keep your planning data on your device. Network connections used by the app are restricted to secure HTTPS connections. The security of device backups and third-party services is governed by the security measures of those providers.
12. Data retention and deletion
Locally stored OopsPlan data remains on your device until you delete individual entries, use an available in-app reset/delete function, uninstall the app, or clear OopsPlan storage through Android settings. If data has been included in a device backup, retention and deletion of that backup are controlled by your Android/device backup provider.
Because OopsPlan does not require an OopsPlan account, there is no OopsPlan online account to delete.
13. Children
OopsPlan is a general productivity and personal-planning application and is not specifically directed to children. The app does not knowingly operate a service intended to collect personal information from children.
14. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when OopsPlan features or data practices change. The “Last updated” date above will be changed when an update is published.
